The Boston chapter of the Little Brothers of the Elderly held their fundraising event at the Royal Sonesta Hotel this past week and it was a great success. I’m honored to be a part of it every year. Please check out their website to see all of the great work that they the Little Brothers do to help our senior citizens! In addition a special thanks goes out to Janie Haas Events for putting on such a great event. Northern Lights Entertainment really provided a lot of fun too. Boston Mayor Menino was there to say a few words and Susan Wornick did an excellent job raising money for the cause and doing the live auction.

What a party it was! It was great fun celebrating with Adam and all of his family and friends this past weekend. Siagel Productions provided excellent entertainment and Wunderle’s Big Top Adventures added a lot of fun and adventure to the party too.

Thank you very much to all of the families, Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs that have allowed me to be a part of their very special day! I am realizing more and more how fortunate I am. Photographing events allows me to witness amazing, emotional and fun family events. As someone who is essentially a stranger to the group, I feel honored that I’ve been selected to play a part. And typically by the end, I feel that I too am part of the family! So, here is just a few pictures from the year 2011. I hope you enjoy them. And I look forward to a rewarding and exciting 2012 – meeting new families and revisiting with old. Happy New Year!

A beautiful Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah venue is the result of good planning. Twist Events put on a fantastic event at Veronique recently and I was fortunate enough to photograph the grand event. This celebration of Rachel’s Bat Mitzvah was fantastic and I’ll be sure to share a few more pictures of the action and fun. But for starters I thought I should share the ambiance that was created. I highly recommend the venue and of course Twist!!

I love photographing a good party and if you are like me you know that good entertainment is key. Eric’s Bar Mitzvah was a fantastic show and MC Chris and DJ Q kept the party fun. Everyone had the time of their life! Definitely check out Siagel Productions if you are having a party.

Temple Beth Avodah is a great place to celebrate a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. All of the above pictures were taken at the temple located at 45 Puddingstone Lane in Newton Centre Massachusetts. At this location we were able celebrate with a fantastic party put on by SD Events, otherwise known as Simple Details. As you can see the ambiance was excellent and the party was a blast!

As everyone knows I love to photograph Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs. Recently I’ve been busy putting together a new show for the Art Complex Museum of Duxbury Massachusetts and I wanted to share what I’ve been up to lately. It will be on display until October 2nd and my artist reception is scheduled for this Sunday, August 21st from 1:30 to 3:30. In addition I just returned from another road trip in my continuing project documenting the road. Hopefully this will bear fruit for a new exhibition of work at Rolly-Michaux Gallery in the Spring of 2012. In addition I’ve been busy with my new website entitled Boston Art Life. For more information on my art project visit Castagna Studio!

Bar Mitzvah pictures above were taken at Temple Israel of Boston. It was great to work in the temple. The Rabbi and Cantor had the pictures done after the morning service and the Rabbi really had the photo shoot down, even to the point of providing a ladder to get great pictures of the Torah reading. It was fun, fast and helped create great family pictures!

I photographed a fantastic event at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline Massachusetts last weekend. The decor was great – beautiful table settings with model cars as center pieces against the old antique and super-cool cars. This venue is terrific for Bar Mitzvahs as it has a built in theme! I highly recommend it!
